When It Finally Comes Back

I've been dealing with creative block for a while now. Writer's block, beat block, whatever you want to call it. The ideas were there somewhere, but getting them out was another story.
Lately, though, something has shifted. I'm making good progress on the ambient project and the beat tape, and I'm finally starting to feel connected to my surroundings in a way that's feeding the work again. Even a used camera I picked up on Facebook Marketplace has given me a little creative jolt. Sometimes a different tool is enough to make you start looking at familiar things differently.
The funny part is that just as I'm settling into the environment and the inspiration is really starting to hit, it's almost time to leave Thailand for Vietnam.
Maybe that's just part of traveling. You finally learn the rhythm of a place just as it's time to pack.
I have Bangkok next week before we leave, and I'm hoping to spend some of that time walking, listening, and putting the camera to work. Maybe get a few good photographs, maybe collect a few sounds, maybe just pay attention.
The creative block finally seems to be breaking.
Naturally, now I have to pack.
