Freedom Sounds Like a Dub Echo

Freedom Sounds Like a Dub Echo 1

Lately I've been taking the motorbike out at night with nowhere particular to go. Just riding through the city toward the beach listening to old reggae 45 mixes uploaded by Fonki Cheff. The roads feel different after dark. The city somehow becomes more alive. Neon reflecting off wet pavement, food stalls still smoking at midnight, conversations spilling out onto sidewalks, scooters threading through the night like schools of fish.

There's something almost suspicious about enjoying your own freedom this much. No deadlines. No meetings. No one waiting for me to explain where I am or what I'm doing. Just warm air, dim streetlights, the sound of old basslines bouncing off the pavement, and the ocean somewhere ahead in the dark.

This morning I woke up to an affirmation that said: "I am working on me for me."

For once, I think I actually believe it.
